How can I donate or access Donor Human Milk?
Saskatchewan collects donor human milk (DHM) at Milk Depots from Mama-Champions who have more than they require, or from moms who gift their expressed milk after a loss.
DHM is shipped to the Northern Star Mother’s Milk Bank in Calgary. The milk is pasteurized and is purchased back at minimal cost for NICU and vulnerable infants. Families in need of DHM can inquire at designated pharmacy purchase sites.
Please visit Northern Star Mother’s Milk Bank to learn about donor eligibility and Milk Drop locations, or where you can order DHM for purchase in Saskatchewan. (Follow for upcoming news about more options where to purchase DHM in Saskatchewan!)
